5-6pm Zili Misik & Letta Neely (roots music of the African diaspora)

AND DJ Lady Ly plays throughout; mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic (PLEASE SIGN UP HERE) between 1-4pm; Gourmet Kreyòl 1-6pm (if you show up first, your food may be FREE!!)

AND — WATER TRUCK for the day!! Bring a water bottle (or purchase one of our reusable ones!) and a chair and join us!!

Project Misik: Neponset RiverYard.

Honoring Our Ancestors through our Music.

Project Misik: A Neponset RiverYard is a day of interactive workshops and performance, featuring BIPOC folkx & stories, & connecting us, by the riverside.

Led by Kera Washington of all-female multi-ethnic band, Zili Misik, this Yard is funded by Olmsted NOW, the Wellness Collaborative, & Boston Ujima, and brings together Haitian master drummer & choreographer Peniel Guerrier, steel pannist Becky Bass, Afro-Brazilian Mestra/Choreographer Isaura Oliveira, Afrobeats DJ Lady Ly, & poet Letta Neely.

Haitian Food will be provided by Gourmet Kreyòl!

In this day of interactive workshops & interactive performance, we intend to invite all folkx to celebrate black and brown folkx on the banks of the Neponset River & build common knowledge, community and respect among us, particularly for marginalized people of African descent.
